The goal of the Furry Ferret Shelter is to care for all
homeless ferrets until a New permanent loving home is
found. We are a 100 percent no-kill shelter --no ferrets
are ever euthanize due to lack of room. We offer
sponsorship and foster programs. Someone can sponsor a
special needs ferret that remains in the care of the
shelter for $10 a month. (This helps defray medical costs
for a specific ferret). The foster program allows an
unusually geriatric or special needs ferret to go to a
foster home for extra TLC while still being financially
supported by the shelter. Ferret adoptions are available
for $100 through three years of age, and $60 for ages
four and up.
Distemper shots given prior to adoption are those
appropriate for the age of the ferret kit. All ferrets are
also ADV tested and receive an AVID microchip that you
can have registered in your name. We Are Hoping to
typically have 40 to 75 ferrets available for adoption at
the shelter. If you are considering a ferret for a pet,
please see the section Ferret Care - tips This will
provide you with useful information about ferrets to aid
you in deciding if the ferret is the right pet for your
home.
Are you a Ferret lover? Can you help to support our
efforts?
Please contact the shelter at (843)394-8894 and ask For
Crystal or and write to us

how you can help.

If you want to adopt, be sure you know what's ahead
of you. Ferrets are high maintenance pets and require a
veterinarian with "ferret experience" - not always easy to
find. You will need a ferret proof room-cage, with
accessories, and five to eight years commitment on our
part. We are dedicated to the betterment of ferrets lives
and expect you as a new owner to be as well.
We are located in Lake City South Carolina about 25
miles From Florance South Carolina. We welcome visitors,
however is advisable to call first,Please Just Ask For
Crystal or Jesse Teal..... as we may
be out finding a ferret. If we can help with any
questions you have on ferrets, we will be glad to help but
we may also request that you call your vet - as there are
many areas that you are best helped by someone with
medical information.
Any and all ferrets are taken in; we make
no judgments about health, age or condition.
If health is a problem, they are taken to our
Veterinarian, immediately
handle the problem so that they are not in
the shelter with other ferrets that might
become involved with a problem they have.
All efforts are made to save all the ferrets; euthanasia is
not an option until all other efforts are exhausted and the
ferret is in pain.

Our shelter is not large (But I'm Trying to working on
changing that)
